NHL Players Cleared: World Junior Team Acquitted
In a landmark verdict, all five players from the 2018 World Junior hockey team were acquitted of sexual assault charges related to an incident involving a woman known as E.M. in June 2018. This decision has allowed the players—Michael McLeod, Carter Hart, Alex Formenton, Dillon Dubé, and Cal Foote—to continue their NHL careers, while the London Police formally acknowledged the court's verdict. The NHL Players' Association has even advocated for their return to work following the acquittal.
